What is Botox® / Dysport®?
Botox® / Dysport® is an agent derived from Botulinum that reduces wrinkles and fine lines by temporarily paralyzing the muscle. The most common area of treatment is frown lines of the forehead.

How does treatment work?
Botox® / Dysport® temporarily reduces the contractions of the muscles that cause wrinkles. By relaxing the muscles, the overlying skin becomes smoother. Several tiny Botox® / Dysport® injections are administered directly into the muscles that cause lines and wrinkles. Your healthcare provider will determine where those muscles are located.

Is Botox® / Dysport® safe?
Botox® / Dysport® is safe and has few side effects. Side effects may include headache, flu-like symptoms and temporary eyelid droop.

Will there be any downtime?
You may resume normal activities immediately. We recommend to remain upright for following 4 hours and no exercise activity for 24 hours.

How long does Botox® / Dysport® treatment last?
A Botox® / Dysport ® treatment lasts an average of three to four months when used on the face. Many clients do experience lengthening of their treatment intervals with regular use.

How does the treatment feel?
The only pain or discomfort is a slight pin-prick sensation from the small needle used to inject the Botox® / Dysport®. To alleviate discomfort, ice or a topical anesthetic may be applied prior to the treatment.

Who are candidates for Botox® / Dysport®?
Candidates for Botox® / Dysport® injections are age eighteen to sixty-five and those interested in improving the appearance of their face. Many candidates are seeking relief from wrinkles and brow furrows.

Who should avoid Botox® / Dysport®?
Do not use Botox® / Dysport® if you have an infection at the injection site, are allergic to any of the ingredients in Botox® / Dysport® or are pregnant. Some conditions may increase the chance of infection. Certain clients with neuromascular diseases should avoid Botox® / Dysport®. Consult your physician before receiving Botox® / Dysport®.

Is additional treatment necessary?
Generally, after three to four months, the Botox® / Dysport® effects will begin to fade and facial features will gradually return to their former state. Maintenance treatments are necessary to maintain the effect of Botox® / Dysport® for long periods of time.

What are the limitations of Botox® / Dysport®?
The limitation of Botox® / Dysport® is that it is not a permanent answer to reducing wrinkles. Also, results vary occasional problems with asymmetry may occur.
